What is Latisse®?
Latisse® is the first growth treatment for eyelashes. It is both FDA-approved and clinically proven to stimulate eyelash growth. This product can help men and women grow eyelashes that are thicker, darker, and longer within a matter of weeks. This is possible through bimatoprost, the main ingredient in Latisse®. This ingredient lengthens the growth phase of the eyelashes and increases the number of hairs that grow during this period.
How is Latisse® Administered?
Latisse® is a prescription product that you apply at home. You apply the topical solution to the base of the upper eyelashes once a night. It is an eye product, so it is not dangerous if it gets in your eyes. Patients need to consistently use the product to achieve results.
What Can I Expect From Latisse®?
Latisse® works instantly, but it can take up to four weeks for patients to see noticeable results. After about 16 weeks, patients can expect to see full eyelash growth as a result of regular application. Latisse® is safe to use daily, and does not require any special care outside of consistent usage. Latisse® needs to be used regularly to maintain eyelash growth. If a patient stops using Latisse®, eyelashes may return to their original length and thickness within a few weeks or months.
