What is an IPL™ Photofacial?
Intense Pulse Light, also known as IPL™, is a non-surgical treatment that will improve your skin’s appearance both quickly and easily. This advanced, light-based technology clears undesirable brown spots, sun damage, and vessels, revealing clearer, more beautiful skin. The specialized pulses of light delivered to your skin causes them to slowly disappear through your body’s natural healing process, all without harming the surrounding skin.
How is an IPL™ Photofacial Administered?
For IPL™ photofacials, we use the ICON laser, one of the most advanced and powerful lasers on the market. During treatment, the ICON laser hand piece is passed over the areas of the skin to be treated. A single session typically takes around 30 minutes, and can produce significant results in just one or two treatments. An anesthetic is typically used to minimize any discomfort, and the ICON laser also features cooling technology to make the patient's experience as comfortable as possible.
What Can I Expect After My IPL™ Photofacial?
After treatment, patients can expect mild redness around the treated area. This typically fades after a few days or even a few hours for some patients. We recommend that patients avoid exposure to the sunlight, as the skin will be vulnerable until it heals. After the skin heals and collagen production picks up in the body, you can expect noticeable results in the complexion of your skin. Some patients may need multiple sessions to achieve their desired results.
