Breast Reconstruction
Recent advancements in the art and science of reconstructing the breast provide options for women facing mastectomy. Prior to surgery, reconstruction techniques can be discussed and a plan devised to determine the best fit for you.
Approach: A tissue expander can be placed, followed by an implant. Alternatively, your own tissue from the abdomen, back, or buttock may be used to reconstruct your breast.
Expected Results: Near symmetry of reconstructed breasts.
Recovery: 7-10 days for tissue expander, 14-21 days for autologous reconstruction.
